E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (2)

Edit       /var/lib/dpkg/statoverride   file as bellow

root mlocate 2755 /usr/bin/mlocate
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------


remove all other lines in this file and save it (there should not be any empty line too)will work....
